What Does Feminism Mean To You?

What does feminism mean to you?

Feminism means equality for everyone. I strongly believe in equal rights for both men and women. Feminism, to me, means standing up for women's rights and supporting women.

That is just my quick definition of feminism...What's yours?

I hate the word Feminism.
I also hate "Gay rights" as a word phrase too.

If the Masculism movement was the way the feminist movement is I would probably hate that too.

I hate them cause it's an imbalance. When the women's rights movement was happening it was something that needed to be done and needed to happen. But there's a lot about male and female relationships that were there before the women's rights thing basically out of courtesy that women didn't have rights. Like how guys [who were able to make money and get high paying jobs] would pay for everything on a date with a woman [who wasn't able to find a job easily and if she did find one didn't make much money or have respect in her field amongst her peers].

Back then, it sure as hell made sense that a guy should buy everything, cause they had everything and women didn't. NOW it's fucked.

Most feminist I know still expect a guy to buy everything and that's not equality. Equality is what I want. Humanists I feel positively about cause they care about the well being of all rather than just a focus on one set.

My definition on Feminism is that it's all about women being empowered and having a better life. It has nothing to do with the rights of men. Masculism is about men's rights and focuses on the struggles a man has being a man. It's about empowering men and giving them a better life.

I'm personally iffy about any girl who says "I'm a feminist and I think you should be too." which I see a lot on dating sites. I wont message them. I think . o O (Well, yeah, no shit you're a feminist. You're a woman and feminism is all about making shit better for women, but it doesn't give a shit about my life or what I have to deal with.)

Humanism all day.
Equality and fair treatment for all no matter their gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, musical interest, fashion choices, how much sugar they like in their coffee, wether they prefer paper or plastic, etc..
